Safe + Sound Week is an annual nationwide event taking place August 7th-13th, dedicated to acknowledging workplace health and safety achievements while promoting ways to ensure the well-being of American workers. The event highlights the importance of successful safety and health programs in proactively identifying and managing workplace hazards, in order to hopefully prevent injuries and illnesses and enhance overall business sustainability and profitability.

This year's Safe + Sound Week focuses on mental health and well-being, providing valuable resources to businesses. The event aims to support organizations in initiating new safety programs, revitalizing existing ones, or simply recognizing their commitment to safety.

Central to the success of safety and health programs is management leadership. When top management demonstrates genuine commitment and actively implements these programs, it sends a powerful message to employees about the significance of safety and health in the business's success. The ways in which management can showcase their dedication include: developing and sharing a safety and health policy statement, ensuring sufficient resources for program implementation, integrating safety into operational planning, and recognizing safety achievements.

Safe + Sound Week has seen substantial engagement, with over 3,300 businesses participating last year, collectively raising awareness about workers' health and safety. By joining Safe + Sound Week, businesses have an opportunity to learn from successful programs, exchange ideas, and gain valuable insights into protecting their workers' well-being. Ultimately, a proactive approach to safety and health not only safeguards employees but also contributes positively to a company's bottom line and overall sustainability.OSHA-Graphics_Core-Elements
