This June is National Safety Month sponsored by the National Safety Council (NSC) in an effort to keep everyone safe at work and at home. This initiative is working to spread awareness and combat the occurrence of preventable injuries or “accidents” that currently takes the fourth leading slot in causes of deaths in the U.S. During this month, the NSC is working to highlight the leading causes of preventable injury and death so people can continue to live their fullest lives. As a business owner, it is your responsibility to provide and create healthier and safer environments where your staff can work optimally and provide them the same level of care and attention as you would your customers and family.

Throughout this month the NSC will be discussing a different topic each week in hopes of starting conversations at work and at home to keep your staff and your loved ones safe. To start off the month, there will be materials and resources surrounding Emergency Preparedness. The second week will discuss Slips, Trips and Falls, followed by Heat-Related Illness. To wrap up National Safety Month, the last week will discuss Hazard Recognition. To stay up to date on National Safety Month and procure your free resources for each week like graphics, a social media toolkit, tip sheets, articles, webinars, and more, join the initiative and take a pledge for safety.
