Insurers and business owners alike are motivated to deploy safety measures to prevent on the job injuries. While some workers are happy to make behavior changes in the interest of fewer injuries, others may need additional motivation.
OSHA provides a solution for ‘gamifying’ safety procedures, speeding safety process adoption in the workplace. They have created three CHALLENGES for workers and management can be tied to real rewards based on dates of completion. This engaging way of reinforcing the importance of safety can have excellent results.

For instance, workers can earn a challenge coin by finding and fixing hazards in their workplace, or by identifying a workplace safety activity that helps build a more diverse and accepting workplace. Managers can participate in the 3 in 30 challenge, where they receive a challenge coin by taking three recommended actions in a single month.
