Commercial trucking companies will once again benefit from the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA)’s annual International Roadcheck, taking place May 4-6. In 2021 there will be an emphasis on lighting and hours of service.
Over the 72-hour period from May 4 to 6, commercial motor vehicle inspectors in the US will conduct inspections on commercial motor vehicles and drivers. While much of the inspection is routine, 2021 will see the inspectors reviewing driver’s operating credentials, hours-of-service documentation, seat belt usage, and sobriety. Inspectors will also look for lighting violations including “lamps inoperable,” which was the number one vehicle violation in 2020.
DII is aware of these enhanced check points and works with our commercial trucking clients to help stay abreast of regulatory and safety concerns. This vigilance protects our policy holders and helps make the roads safe for everyone.
